INSTRUMENTATION

Surround yourself with our state-of-the art equipment—the touchstone of the Advanced Eyecare of Arizona experience.

Our Mesa practice is one of about 40 in the Grand Canyon State to feature dual-laser Optomap imaging of the retina at the rear of the eye, mapping a 200-degree photograph of the eye’s interior in a split-second (0.39 seconds, to be precise).

The binocular indirect ophthalmoscope allows for a 3-dimensional view of the retina and the vitreous while biomicroscopes help to evaluate your cornea, lens, optic nerve, and, again, the retina.

In addition, we use computerized vision charts and a revolutionary process called pachymetry, a newly developed tool that can help assess your risk of glaucoma. This disorder involves abnormally elevated intraocular (within the eye) pressure that can lead to optic nerve damage and decreased peripheral (side) vision. In the long run, if left untreated, glaucoma can lead to blindness.

Another high-tech instrument at Advanced Eyecare of Arizona involves automated vision screening, which can help us determine the degree of your color vision and depth perception. A computer topography device lets us diagnose and treat corneal and other vision problems, while automated field instruments checks for medical eye conditions such as glaucoma and neurological diseases that may affect your field of vision.

As you can well see—pardon the pun—we never take our practice foundation of “For Vision. For Life. Eyecare You Can Trust!” lightly.
